Description The European System of National and Regional Accounts (ESA 2010, or simply: ESA) is an internationally compatible accounting framework for a systematic and detailed description of a total economy (that is a region, country or group of countries), its components and its relations with other total economies.
 
Several classifications (and their subclassifications) belong to the framework:
  Classification of institutional sectors (ESA_S 2010)
  Classification of transactions and other flows
       - Transactions in products (ESA_P 2010)
       - Transactions in non-produced non-financial assets (ESA_NP 2010)
       - Distributive transactions (ESA_D 2010)
       - Transactions in financial assets and liabilities (ESA_F 2010)
       - Other changes in assets (ESA_K 2010)
  Classification of balancing items and net worth (ESA_B 2010)
  Classification of assets
       - Non-financial assets (ESA_AN 2010)
       - Financial assets (ESA_AF 2010)
In order to describe better the transactions of Estonian national accounts, classifications ESA_S 2010 and ESA_AN 2010 have been supplemented with additional levels.
